Leather

Some things need no introduction.

Cavallini and Co.

Makers of the Roma Lussa and Gigante journals.  The most exquisite leather you will ever own.  Luscious enough to sleep with on a regular basis.  Guaranteed to make you look better and more serious in any coffee shop.

The Levenger Catalog

The inadvertently celibate writer’s answer to Mormon undergarments, Catholic schoolgirl kilts, Japanese rolled-socks, and Jean-Luc Picard uniforms.  The catalog features all kinds of deliciousness with flavors ranging from bookworm to neat freak to unrepentantly OCD.  My latest purchase, The Bomber Jacket Portfolio, includes two leather loops and a Burberry-esque lining.  Exceptionally versatile for teaching or writing or cradling your first-edition Lolita.  Newbies are encouraged to take a deep, long look at The Editor’s Desk, The Notecard Bleachers, and The Levenger Bottled Ink.

Moleskine Notebooks

Other than the sad mistake of offing himself, was Hemingway ever really wrong?  Rumored to be his favorite (Picasso’s too), these sleek little notebooks–outfitted with creamy, heavy-weight paper and a naughty-but-svelte outer wrapper of pleather–come pre-adapted to suit your every fetish.  My personal favorite, the Cahier Pocket Squared Journal, comes with only 64 pages but fits snugly into a back pocket for those spur-of-the-moment urges to pen down “found” lines or inspirations in public.  My most recent Cahier-facilitated acquisition, “Well, no one ever really plans on getting herpes.”
